Four Pieces for Piano is a very different composition. In the opening "Restless" Taylor writes in a serialistic style. "Anger" offers the piano a good bashing and continues into depths of serialism. "Avenue Dance" is very tonal and lighthearted, almost jazzy at certain times. "Recollections in Black" explores Taylor's specialty: poly-tonality.
