About
"Two Pieces for Two Pianos" was written for pianist Leah Rinaldi. The first piece (Vivace) is fast and jazzy. The two pianos duel in many passages. The second piece (Lento e solenne) is heartbreakingly beautiful with many interesting harmonies. The pianos complement each other with many sections written in canon style. The writing is highly chromatic and harmonically dense.
